As you head into winter, your Chevy needs some tender loving care. If you take care of this, you’ll be able to rely on your vehicle throughout the cold season. Here’s some Chevy winter maintenance for keeping your vehicle safe and reliable.

Check Those Tires
Now might be the time to have us put on winter tires for you. Winter tires are made of a different type of rubber that is optimized to provide the best grip in colder temperatures. They tend to work best in anything under 45°. These tires also have special sipes that make them better at giving you grip in snowy conditions. Especially if you’re headed up into the mountains for some skiing, you will definitely want the extra protection of snow tires on your vehicle.
Change Your Cabin Air Filter
The cabin air filter ensures that all the air flowing into your vehicle is fresh, but over time it gets filled up with all the gunk that it’s filtering out and keeping you from having to breathe. This is especially important in the winter, because a clogged air filter will compromise the defrosting ability of your air con system. It’ll take longer to defrost the windshield, and you may start to get frustrated with poor visibility whenever there’s precipitation.
Check the Battery and Headlights
When you bring your Chevy in to us for winter maintenance, will also take a look at the battery and the headlights. With dark coming a bit earlier during the winter, and with the possibility of storms, you want those headlights to be performing just the way they should. And the cold can be hard on the battery, so we can check it to make sure it’s holding a good charge and is not going to leave you stranded somewhere when you just want to be home and cozy.
Test the Heating System
You want to make sure that you’re going to have heat when you need it, so the time to check on that is before winter hits. When you bring it to us, we’ll take a look at the HVAC system and make sure that it’s performing exactly as it should and will deliver you the heat you want whenever you need it.
